I was in labor for 36 hours and when the doctor came in to tell me it was time, I felt more than ready to meet my baby. Adyson was born at 9:01 pm. Babies usually cry as soon as they’re born but mine wasn't. She was immediately handed over to two other doctors. They were trying to get her to breathe. Minutes seemed like endless hours, but then I suddenly heard a tiny but powerful cry; I felt blessed and relieved that my daughter was fine. This song came to mind when I carried her for the first time; it was love at first sight. It is hummed to my daughter by her father on rough nights when sleep doesn't come easy. It still brings tears to my eyes every time I play it.
