Some time ago, I experienced a horrifying ordeal that cost me a good bit of memory loss. After i recovered, I realized I had forgotten entire bits and pieces of my life, and I struggled to reason and string together whatever and anything that i could remember. The best help I had was music, and this song in particular triggered some of the most vivid memories to date. It was the first song on my playlist at the time, and it eventually came to embody my turning point. I still have some trouble remembering a few things, and my short-term memory is pretty much shot, but that's served to be more of a blessing than a curse lately. Every now and then, I revisit myself when I hear it, and I'm grateful to have been given a chance to leave the past in the past. The power of introspection is always a humbling experience.
