I remember walking into the basement of the Parish center not knowing what to expect. I couldn't find my place with the people I was around. I wasn't into meeting anyone from different churches or anyone due to the state I was in, mentally and emotionally. This song played everyday during the retreat right before a speech was given by a member of the youth group describing how the church affected them individually. I was previously asked about joining the military. To my luck, I got to listen to a speech given by one of the members of the youth group. He spoke about his brother being in the Middle East, serving for those he loves. He opened my eyes to something I can possibly do to better myself and the country I live in. I thought if he had the courage to make the decision to join the Marines, what is stopping me from it? I realized the importance of learning to live like I'm not afraid and fixating myself what is most important in my life.
